Harbour Boise Concert reviews
A Disappointing Reunion
When Sir Rod opened the show with "Infatuation," the first sign that this would be a less than stellar performance was evident. The original recording, which featured Jeff Beck on lead guitar, was missed as Stewart's tour guitarist was not up to the task for the solo. Before the acoustic set, a chair was brought out for him to sit in, marking the second indication of a lackluster show. Vegas-inspired glitz, including 5 sexy female backup singers/performers, 2 drummers, and cheesy green-screened graphics, dominated much of his set. Sir Rod rarely fully immersed himself in the songs, further detracting from the experience. As Jeff Beck finally made an appearance, things started to pick up slightly. However, their interaction was minimal, and with only 4 songs performed together, the potential of their collaboration was largely missed.
